Metadata Policy

1. Access:

Metadata is freely accessible to anyone without charge.

2. Re-use:

Metadata may be reused in any medium without prior permission for non-commercial purposes, provided:

  • The OAI Identifier or a link to the original metadata record is included.
  • UiTM Research Repository is acknowledged.
  • Metadata must not be reused in any medium for commercial purposes without formal permission.

  • Data Policy

    1. Access: Full-text and other full data items are freely accessible to anyone.
    2. Reproduction: Single copies of full items can be reproduced in any format or medium for personal research, study, educational, or non-commercial purposes without prior permission or charge, provided that authors, title, and full bibliographic details are given.
    3. Harvesting: Full items must not be harvested by robots.
    4. Commercial Use: Full items must not be sold commercially in any format or medium without formal permission from the copyright holders.
    5. Repository Role: This repository is not the publisher but serves as the online archive.

    1. Repository Type: Multi-institution, subject-based repository.
    2. Subject Specialties: Multidisciplinary.
    3. Materials Held: UiTM Research Repository holds all types of materials.
    4. Deposited Items:
      • Working drafts.
      • Submitted versions (as sent to journals for peer-review).
      • Accepted versions (author's final peer-reviewed drafts).
      • Published versions (publisher-created files).
    5. Item Tagging:
      • Version type and date.
      • Peer-review status.
      • Publication status.
    6. Principal Languages: English; Malay.

    Submission Policy

    1. Retention: No retention period defined.
    2. Readability & Accessibility: UiTM Research Repository will ensure continued readability and accessibility.
    3. Backup:Regular backups are performed according to current best practices.
    4. Item Removal:
    5. Items may be removed at the request of the author/copyright holder, but this is strongly discouraged.
      -Acceptable reasons for withdrawal include:
      • Journal publishers' rules.
      • Proven copyright violation or plagiarism.
      • Legal requirements and proven violations.
      • National Security.
      • Falsified research.
    6. Deletion: No deletion method for withdrawn items defined.
    7. Identifiers/URLs: Withdrawn items' identifiers/URLs are retained transiently.
    8. Searchability: The metadata of withdrawn items will not be searchable.
    9. Versioning: If necessary, an updated version may be deposited, and the item's persistent URL will always link to the latest version.
    10. Closure Policy: No closure policy defined.
    This policy provides clear guidelines for the management, access, and preservation of research data within the UiTM Research Repository.
