Description

This paper provided dataset and information of shaking table test of 2 story steel structure model (80x80x60 cm) attached with 4 water tanks (30x30x30 cm) at the top of it acting as a passive tuned liquid damper. Tuned liquid damper is a container filled with water. Water sloshing inside the container during excitation is the principle of reducing the structure vibration. There were 4 cases of water level considered (empty water tanks, ¼-filled water tanks, half-filled water tanks and ¾-filled water tanks). The structure response such as displacement and acceleration were observed and recorded. The data collected from this shaking table test will be used for validation of numerical analysis that will expend the simulation process to find whether the position of water tanks as passive tuned liquid damper will affect the structure response other than water level.
